The 2011 MLS All-Stars vs Manchester United
61Manchester United 4 - MLS All-Stars 0
Manchester United is the number one team in the English Premier League and a significant power broker team in Europe. The MLS All-Stars is a potpourri of the top players in the U.S. Major League Soccer (MLS). Man United played against the MLS All-Stars as a showcase of talent.
As everyone know, that most All-Stars games usually occur mid season and it is way to recognize the best players in each team. It is also an opportunity to thank them for their contribution thus far.
The Game Plan.
The game between the MLS All-Stars and Man Utd as they are called in England was all classical in nature. It was to be expected when you take one of the top team in Europe and pair it against on some of the best or most talented players in Major League Soccer, you are going to see great football game. Man Utd was, of course, the dominant team on the field. Their handling and passing of the ball were impressing. They scored their goals with superb ability.
Man Utd have been touring the country and have beaten every single team in Major League Soccer that they were scheduled to play. All those previous friendly matches may have been for a better word a practice run for them and taking on the MLS All-Stars will be the icing on the cake.
Beckham vs Rooney.
London Donavan could not play due to injury therefore the task at hand was in the hand of David Beckham who would be playing against his former Man Utd teammates. David Beckham’s shots on goal were too little and too late as the team of Wayne Rooney scored a total of four goals against the MLS best. It was a very convincing win for team Rooney.

The Lesson Learned.
Thank God, it was a friendly.
Manchester United was playing the game more like in the position of a professor showing the new student, the MLS All-Stars how to read and write or rather how to play the beautiful game. This was a lesson well taken, as it will be used as a learning experience for all other players in MLS.
The MLS All-Stars know that they have a lot of work ahead. They are few years short of catching up with the European Soccer. Given the latitude, they will be able to catch-up, meet and exceed anyone's expectations. For MLS and its stars, the future is bright.

Did you see Mario Balotelli doing a failed back heel when clean on goal? It was disrespectful =/
Hahahaha. Lets see how well he does this season in the EPL.
Hello PGLaurent, when are you gonna write your thoughts on the recent world cup qualifying group picks? France just got grouped with Spain! Looking forward to that!

Manchester United is in fine pre-season form. This victory against the best of MLS but their 7-0 whipping of Seattle Sounders on that North American tour in context.
